LibDem-run Kingston Council stops maintaining public toilets

The future of public toilets in Kingston has been put under threat as LibDem-run Kingston Council gives up on maintaining them. The photo shows the public toilets in New Malden, which has not had any maintenance for years, with the damage caused by long-term water leaks likely to end up costing many thousands of pounds.

Councillor Ian George said: “This is just typical if this LibDem-run Council. If previous experience is to be believed the lack of maintenance will end up costing tens of thousands of pounds to fix, resulting in eventual closure of the toilets to save money. The residents of Kingston and New Malden deserve better. Decent quality public toilets help support the local shopping centre, but Kingston Council just don’t care.”
