Your local Conservative councillors opposed and voted against the new LibDem Bin Tax, which was forced through at the recent Kingston Council Budget meeting. The same meeting agreed to increase Kingston's Council Tax (highest in London) by the maximum allowable, 4.99%.
The new LibDem Bin Tax will see Kingston residents charged a new fine if they require a new bin. The new fine has increased by over 300%, and the actual cost will depend on the size of the bin needing replacement. As everyone knows, the most likely way of a bin being damages is when they are being emptied and moved by the council contractor. As residents don't have a choice as to whether to use the official bins or not, this really is a bit of a cheek from Kingston Council.
