The controversial closure of Crescent Road, from the junction with Kingston Hill, has been reviewed and the closure times reduced. Following widespread opposition, and nearly 11,000 fines issued, Crescent Road will in future be closed from 7.30 am to 9.30 am Monday to Friday. However, the 24 hour closure remains in place until the new signage is put in place.
Your Conservative councillors, Rowena Bass & Ian George:
- Were the only councillors to vote against the closure of Crescent Road.
- Led the campaign that got 2,684 fines cancelled, due to poor signage.
- Paid for a leaflet to advise local residents to use the official council consultation site to ensure their views were taken notice of. The petition did not meet council standards, so wasn’t full reported.
- Will remove all restrictions if the Conservatives run the Neighbourhood Committee after the May elections.
