Many local residents from Kingston Vale and further down Kingston Hill have contacted us with their concerns at the unpunctuality of the 85 bus service. This is an issue that both Rowena and Ian have been liaising with TfL and the GLA about for some time.
Following fruitful discussions with Conservative GLA member Andrew Boff, who has been helping follow this up, an additional bus was added to increase the frequency, and a new review of the curtailments at Putney Heath has been initiated.
Following a further review of the situation by the operator, First Bus advised that they are increasing service controller coverage on route 85 due to the challenging traffic conditions in the area. This additional oversight is intended to help ensure that any curtailments are optimised and only carried out when absolutely necessary. Work is ongoing to work closely with the operator to minimise future disruption.
Hopefully the problem of delays and early termination of the 85 bus route will now improve. We will continue to liaise with TfL, the GLA and First Bus to keep on top if the situation.
