Coombe Hill Ward Representatives

Patrick Codd

Councillor Patrick Codd

A passionate local activist, has been a councillor for Coombe since 1994.

Currently Chairman of Maldens and Coombe Neighbourhood Committe, he is a former Deputy Leader of the Council, chairman of Planning and Development. Chairman of Development and Royal Park Neighbourhood Committees.

Churchwarden at St Luk’s Kingston, he has been a governor of Robin Hodd Primary School since 1992.

David Edwards

Councillor David Edwards

David Edwards has lived in the borough all his life and has been a Kingston Councillor for over 30 years. He has served two periods as Council Leader – in the 1980’s and again in the 1990’s – and was Mayor in 1992-93.

A high proportion of issues referred to him by Coombe Hill residents concern Highways and Planning issues, in which David has always had a great interest.

He is very concerned about the Council’s high level of expenditure and frequently speaks out, questioning if certain projects are really necessary at a time when most borough residents are having to cut back on their personal spending. He cites the proposed enlargement of the water-fountain in Kingston’s Market Place as one example – whereas at the other end of the scale are the millions of pounds poured into the Rose Theatre by the Lib Dems. “I see both of these as monuments to Lib Dems profligacy, and will serve as a sad reminder of that long after they are swept from power,” says David.

Eric Humphrey

Councillor Eric Humphrey

Eric Humphrey has lived in Kingston for more than 40 years and has been a councillor for the ward in which he lives for 16 years. Eric served in the Metropolitan Police for 38 years and holds the Queens Police Medal for distinguished service. A school governor for many years he is totally committed to maintaining and enhancing a green environment. Street cleaning and waste/recycling should be to the contractual standard. As a councillor he has improved the position of council leaseholders and tenants.

Council services for the elderly and those with disabilities are a great concern to him.
