Lib Dems block plans to improve local parks and pavements

Conservative Councillors were left shocked when Kingston Lib Dems blocked the approval of the Parks and Pavements Improvement Project at a recent meeting of the Residents Committee.

The Project was an initiative designed by the Council to regenerate local parks and pavements across the Borough.

Cllr Phil Doyle, Portfolio Holder for Residents Services said:

Under the Lib Dem administration, our parks and pavements were neglected. Councillors and Officers proposed a list of parks and pavements that were are in need of vital work. In blocking these projects, the Lib Dems have made it clear that new playground equipment and safer pavements are of little concern to them.
