Conservatives increase number of school places for children with special educational needs and disabilities

We're increasing the number of school places for children with SEND

Conservative controlled Kingston is increasing the number of school places available in the borough for children with special educational needs (SEND) following a £1 million investment by the Council.

The news came after the council's treasury committee agreed to finance projects at both St Philips and Hollyfield schools.

Local Conservatives have been delivering improvements to parks across the Borough

Our parks are loved and well used by many families right across the Borough, but under the Lib Dems saw years of neglect. Play equipment was left outdated and not modernised, soft play areas were neglected and families turned away from our parks which should have been places of joy. 

Knowing that this could not continue, Kingston Conservatives have invested an extra £1 million into the borough’s parks helping to make right the Lib Dem years of decline. Our investment is seeing parks across the Borough be modernised with new play equipment installed and safer surfaces helping our children enjoy the great outdoors. Following successful consultations with residents work is progressing well and in some areas it has already been completed.

In 2014 Kingston Conservatives made a pledge to residents to Improve Kingston’s Care services, and we have delivered on that.

When we were out on the doorsteps in 2014 talking to residents, a major concern was that the Borough’s care services weren’t good enough. Concerns had been raised about the standards of care and the previous administration had failed to get a grip on the situation and improve the Borough's care services.
