London Mayor Boris Johnston Officially Opens Hall.

Local Councillors Howard Jones and Shiraz Mirza have combined to save Manor Park Hall in the heart of St James Ward. Boris Johnston officially re-opened the Hall recently.

St James Ward Cllr Howard Jones had encouraged Cllr Shiraz Mirza to focus the attention of the Shiraz Mirza Trust on Manor Park Hall which was in danger of becoming increasingly derelict.

With the help of various local businesses and the good offices of former Mayor Shiraz Mirza the Hall is now one of the best of its kind in South West London. Cllr Mary Clark recalls having her 21st birthday in the Hal, she said “Not too long ago” and Cllr Jones and Smith have attended many functions over the years. Cllr Jones said “This is a fine example of how working together a great community asset can be preserved and then used by the whole community for Birthdays, celebrations, meetings and concerts. It has a great kitchen and has been tastefully re-decorated”
